Every year I host a Donation Quiet Book Swap where we are able to make 40 Quiet Books to give to children in hospitals and foster care. I also save some of the books to donate to non-profits who can auction them off for money for their cause.
I also pick a new child each year to hold the Quiet Book Swap in honor of. Their name goes on the tag inside, they get their own Quiet Book, and I auction a Quiet Book off and all money raised goes to the non-profit of their parent's choice. In the past we have raised money for children with heart conditions, cancer, and rare diseases.
This year, the donation swap will be in honor of Drayden and we will be raising money for Autism research and awareness!
But I can't do it alone!
I am so, so appreciative to everyone who volunteers their time and money to make this swap possible. It could NOT happen without you!!
Here are ways you can help!
If you can sew:
- Pick one page design and make 20 copies.
- Make a cover....or 2 or 3! (This can be done at anytime during the year
- If you're local, help sew the swapped pages back to back.
If you don't sew:
- If you're local, help hole punch and hammer grommets at the swap.
- Make a monetary donation.
I begin the Donation Swap every year towards the end of May and we usually swap in September. You have all summer to work on your pages. (Due to the pandemic, I'm not making plans of where the swap will actually be held until later in the summer. More info to come on the exact date and location!)

Funding the Swap
Every year, I also have a limited edition t-shirt designed to help raise money for supplies. One hundred percent of the profits will go towards the grommets, binder rings, and shipping costs to send completed books out.

If there is any excess money, it will help cover the felt that swap members purchase to make their pages. Otherwise, everyone who makes covers or felt pages will need to supply their own materials. I will happily give all group members 25% off their felt purchased from me though!
